Classes
There are three yoga classes offered: Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Alignment Yoga, and Raja Yoga. The Hatha Yoga class has a primary focus on alignment and safety and is suitable for all levels. The Vinyasa Alignment Yoga class is a dynamic asana flow class where the postures are connected through breath (vinyasa) and is recommended for level 1-2 students. The Raja Yoga class incorporates all aspects of yoga, including yoga sutras, pranayama, and meditation, and will focus on Mudras, Visualization, and beginning meditation/mindfulness practice from May to July.
The class schedule is as follows:

Monday, 11am-12noon: Hatha Yoga (all levels, primary focus on alignment and safety)

Course Description
Practice and learn how to safely and effectively teach Shirshasana and Sarvangasa to your students
in a multi level class setting. Learn how to teach preparation asanas for Shirshasana and
Sarvangasana. Learn how to give clear and effective instructions. Learn how to assess if students
are ready to do full asanas and how to teach full asanas and modifications. Learn position
(alignment) and actions in poses, prop work, verbal queuing, assisting, adjustments, fine-
tuned adjustments for intermediate to advanced students as well as prop work, benefits
and cautions. Learn physical and energy anatomy and physiology for these asanas. Learn the value
of teaching inversions and their history in traditional yoga.
2 DAY INTENSIVE DAILY SCHEDULES
TTP – Techniques, Training; Practice
9am – 10:30 am - TTP 3 hours Total over 2 days
Practice warm-ups and prep poses all geared to work up to full Shirshasana and
Sarvangasana. Practice modifications and prop work for full asanas. Feel and build awareness for
the position and actions in Shirshasana and Sarvangasana. 4 hours TTP asana practice over two
days will focus mainly on actions in the shoulders, muscles of the rotator cuff ( Supraspinatus,
Infraspinatus, Teres minor and Subscapularis) along with the serratus anterior, building awareness
in keeping the neck in a healthy cervical curve and placement of the head in Shirshasana and
Sarvangasana focusing on the skull sutures.
Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle; Ethics (YPLE)
10:45am-11:15am- YPLE 1 hour Total over 2 days
Learn the value of teaching inversions to students and having it be part of one’s ongoing practice as
well as learning about the history of in Shirshasana and Sarvangasana in traditional yoga.
11:15am- 12 noon LUNCH BREAK
Teaching Methodology (TM)
12noon- 4pm – TM 8 hours Total over 2 days

intermediate to advanced students as well as benefits and cautions for Shirshasana and

Anatomy; Physiology (AP)
4:15pm-5:15pm – AP 2 hours Total over 2 days
Learn the Physical and Energy Anatomy and physiology for Shirshasana and
Sarvangasana.
